At this year’s Oscars the men pulled it out of the bag and there were a variety of hair looks that caught my eye! Below are some of my favourites from the male celebrities in attendance, including some of the incredible award winners...
Cillian Murphy
Cillian Murphy pulls off the low key, effortless look phenomenally and I loved the heavy side fringe he sported at this year’s Oscars. Side partings and fringes will be a big trend for men this spring/summer season and are a great way for men to instantly update up their look without changing their cut too drastically. Cillian paired this with effortless styling, which looks to have been created using a matt/low shine pomade, paste or cream to give the hair just a touch of texture and that messy, ‘lived in’ vibe. One of my favourite products for helping achieve this look is the American Crew Defining Paste.
Robert Downey Jr.
Robert Downey Jr.’s hair always looks incredibly polished and sophisticated and suits him perfectly. Paired with a side parting and some height to give that quiff like effect, his look is classic and will never go out of style. When it comes to achieving a look like this, I would use a volumising product to help provide volume and workable texture and I would blow-dry this into the hair, directing where I want the hair to sit. One of my favourite products for a look like this is the American Crew Boost Powder.
Ryan Gosling
Ryan Gosling always looks great and at this year’s Oscars he looked as cool as ever enhancing his natural hair texture with some strands of hair falling out over his forehead. His hair looks undone but still has some hold and a soft shine and probably would have been created using a texturising product like the American Crew Fiber Cream, which provides a medium hold and a soft, natural shine whilst also giving a refined texture and flexibility to the hair.
